Story : After the initial rumbling noise the symphony theme emerges.The landscape raises from the morning fog. Then a memorial for those who did not know this to be their last day. Busy traffic and people moving around. Later a slow song of the angels watching over the victims. This part ends with an exact reverse of the theme, to symbolize the wish to reverse the flow of time.

Story : The most famous business center, moments of stress and moments of love. Elevators rushing up and stones rumbling down. Twin Towers exploding and being demolished into pieces. Echoes of collapses and tears.

Story : The silent march of a crowded grave in the center of the city, with empty time. So many souls singing a loving song without words, to tell their lost relatives about the never ending hope towards peace.

Story : First an early morning cityscape with birds flying around. Then traffic coming in. Moments of work, dedication and hope. Steady move of bulldozers and trucks, and the countdown to the opening of the new building complex. Ending with various fragments of the September 11 event.

Story : Kind of 17th century rondo dance (could go in a loop forever ;-) prelude now played by sympathetic electronics. Nevertheless a gentle dance for the knights in an ancient castle at candlelight, while their dogs are having dinner from the remains falling from the dishes on the round table.

Not very quiet music. Story : This is a noisy piece of rush. Everybody rushing around town intermingled with traffic and construction work. If you want to get nervous, you should listen to this music.

Fast pace. Story : Centuries ago once upon a time in Scotland the brave knights were riding home on their horses to their castle where it was always good eating after a hard day's fight. On the way they kept on chit chatting and singing as they rushed through the greens along the river.

Jyst a quickie. Story : Well, this was a one time only improvisation, no scores & stuff. A techno prelude on a synthesizer that got fed with too many volts.

Story : Written for piano with the guitar in mind for the arpeggios. Lonely man wandering around abandoned streets after having confronted broken love. In between the shadows down town he feels lonesome.

Story : A man and a woman meet on a second date. They did not feel very much at ease. And so they parted after a little chat. But before they walked around the corner of the street, they ran towards each other into a tight hug.

Story : Monophonic prelude for harp. Just for listening to the notes that have not been written. Ah, easy eh.

Story : Weeping in silence after being abandoned by the first love. Complete solitude of the soul. Crying without sound, a voice that cannot utter, tears that do not dry. But still, life goes on, and the feet move over the muddy path of times. Written for harp.

Plucked : Prelude 4. Composed and produced by George Philip Birney.

Story : Originally written for classical guitar. Part of a suite (I am sorry but the other pieces of the suite are missing). First performance of the suite by classical guitarist Irene Latorre for the Swiss Radio. Later on ported for harp. A simple composition in a prelude style.

Story : Originally written for the 19-string (10 course) renaissance lute. Later on ported to harp. It was one of my first compositions for these instruments. Simple and sweet. Went into premiere in a live performance at a Mensa gathering in The Netherlands.
